La Pradera
This luxurious crop originates from Colombia, specifically from the Quindío region, Armenia, at an elevation ranging between 1700-2200 meters above sea level. This is where Carlos Arcila's farm, named Castillon, is located. It spans 7 hectares and reaches an altitude of up to 1450 meters above sea level.
Carlos Arcila comes from a Colombian family of coffee farmers. With his experience and knowledge, when he purchased the farm 32 years ago, he was able to prepare the soil, revive its natural springs, and develop them. He also planted beautiful colorful flowering shrubs like Heliconia and Rumelia, along with several native trees. Now, the Castillon farm, surrounded by trees, looks truly spectacular.
Carlos was known for implementing strict agricultural practices, which contributed to producing high-quality coffee crops.
The crop was processed using the anaerobic honey method, where the coffee undergoes fermentation for up to 72 hours while preserving the sticky mucilage surrounding the coffee beans, then it is spread on raised beds.
